Meet at E end of cutoff section of A69, NY502583. Access either from E end (opposite lane signed Hayon, NY503583) or from W end by Byegill Farm, NY498581.
Friday 6th September, SD57/SD58 Crooklands (leader Mike)
PLEASE NOTE: we have changed the meeting point to the Mart on the south side of the A65. The GR is SD536.822. From M6 junction 36 take A65 eastwards for about 200m to the next roundabout, and turn south on A6070 towards Burton-in-Kendal. After another 200m there is a small roundabout, where turn left down slope, into Mart parking.
Spring Indoor Meeting 2019
At the kind invitation of Cumbria Wildlife Trust, we met at Gosling Sike, CWT’s northern base, at Houghton (northeast of Carlisle), on Saturday 9th March 2019.
Spring Indoor Meeting 2018
As announced in Newsletter No. 4 (28 November 2017), Peter Bullard kindly offered us the use of facilities at CWT Plumgarths for our Spring Meeting, which took place on 10th March 2018.

Meet at SD240.769, just south of Marton village. The road widens here, providing parking for 6–8 cars.
Monday 4th June, NY10 Wasdale (Leader Phill) (NB: replaces previously announced NY12 Lorton)
Meet at NY150.053, one of several car-parks along the shore of Wastwater.
Saturday 23nd to Friday 29th June, SD29 (etc), Broughton Mills and district (Leaders Jeremy, Phill, Mike)
An opportunity to ‘fill in’ an area which has few post-2000 records. The meeting point each day: the large parking area at Wreaks End, SD2225.8656, on a corner of the A595, a kilometre southeast of Broughton-in-Furness.

Meet at NY550.372, a small car-park near Re-cycling Centre just north of Great Salkeld.
Wednesday 15th August, NY62 Knock (Leader Jeremy)
Meet on waste ground, E side of Great Dun Fell road, 100 m up from junction W of Knock village NY6770.2743.
Thursday 6th September, NY30 White Moss Common (Leader Mike)
Meet in lower car-park (south of A591) at NY350.065. (This is a paying car-park so share transport if possible!)

June 19th (Monday): SD39 (Grizedale) – Leader Mike Porter. Meeting-place: Blind Lane Carpark, Force Mills, S of Satterthwaite, Grizedale, SD343.912 (NB: slightly altered GR from that already announced).
July 4th (Tuesday): NY43 (east side; Hutton-in-the-Forest) – Leader Jeremy Roberts. Meeting-place: Hutton-in-the-Forest, by permission of Lord Inglewood. Meet in the visitors car-park, NY460.358.
July 19th (Wednesday): NY50 (High Borrowdale) – Leader Phill Brown. Meeting-place: lay-by on E side A6, at top of Shap Fells, NY554.062.
August 3rd (Thursday): NY62 (Bolton) – Leader Mike Porter. Meeting-place: N-S road on E side of triangle in middle of village of Bolton, NY6379.2324.
August 25th (Friday) : NY73 (South Tyne to Moorhouse) – Leader Phill Brown. Meeting-place: in centre of Garrigill, NY7448.4155. Weather dependent; rough and exposed ground.
September 9th (Saturday): NY44 (west side; Southwaite) – Leader Jeremy Roberts. Meeting-place: layby on E side of A6 by Wragmire Moss, NY4510.4916.

SD38 Newby Bridge – Monday 30th May (Leader Mike Porter). Meet and park at SD325895 near Ash Slack, Ickenthwaite.
NY43 Greystoke – Tuesday 21st June (Leader Phill Brown). An opportunity to explore and record the area around Greystoke Castle (NY435309), arranged by Phill. Park in front of the castle itself. Summerground Crags and Wood, Gillcambon and Greystoke Forest all look interesting.
NY24 Wigton and NY25 Kirkbride – Wednesday 13th July (Leader Mike Porter). Meet at Natural England (South Solway Mosses) picnic spot and car park on west side of Wigton-Kirkbride road GR NY237539.
NY20 Scafell (Blea Tarn area) – Thursday 4th August (Leader Jeremy Roberts). Meet at Blea Tarn car park on minor road between Little Langdale and Great Langdale, above and to the east of Blea Tarn GR NY295043.
NY45 Carlisle (east) and NY44 Southwaite – Friday 26th August (Leader Jeremy Roberts). Meet at the parking place in High Stand Plantation, reached by turning off the minor road between Armathwaite and Cumwhitton and situated at GR NY497485.
NY63 Cross Fell (Blencarn and the area below Cross Fell) – Monday 12th September (Leader Phill Brown). Meet at east end of Blencarn where track heads up towards Cross Fell GR NY639311.

BSBI Annual Summer Meeting – Lowland Cumbria – Thursday 19th to Monday 23rd May. BSBI members will already have details of the BSBI Summer Meeting based at FSC Blencathra Centre, with guided excursions on Friday 20th May, and recording days on Saturday and Sunday, 21/22 May.
